An Experienced Animal Hospital
serving Milford, Stratford & Orange, CT

Our veterinarians are trained to provide a full range of soft-tissue surgical services, including neuters, abdominal surgery, lump removal, spays, and other procedures. A visiting board-certified orthopedic surgeon will perform more complex surgeries including cruciate ligament repair and fractures so pets can receive specialty care in the familiar surroundings at Snowflake Pet Center. Ultrasounds are also arranged and performed by a specialist who we will call to visit Snowflake Pet Center.

We use the latest surgical techniques, anesthesia, and pain medication. To ensure your pet’s safety under anesthesia, we recommend a simple blood test before surgery for all young pets and require it for companions age seven or older. We also monitor your pet’s temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, and level of oxygen in the blood during surgery.
Proactive Pain Management

Our veterinarians take a progressive approach to managing pain so your furry friend is as comfortable as possible. Based on your pet’s treatment or surgery, your doctor will control pain before, during, and after surgery. When your pet is discharged from the animal hospital, you’ll receive written after-care instructions and appropriate pain medication to continue your pet’s comfort at home while healing.
Emergencies

Please call us for any emergency concerning your pet.

Emergencies during our normal hospital hours are given priority treatment over scheduled appointments. All pet owners understand and realize that if it were their pet, they would expect the same. If we are unable to attend to your pet’s emergency after our regular business hours, then we will refer you to a local emergency animal hospital, with follow-up care at Snowflake Pet Center, if you prefer.
X-ray and Digital X-rays

When your pet is sick, you just want your pet to feel better. Because all treatment begins with diagnosis, quickly identifying what is wrong is important.

Through our diagnostic capabilities, we can provide faster test results and more information. This means that we will be able to provide relief to your pet. We utilize the latest technology including pet X-rays that will capture clearer images. Digital images are available within four seconds, which means no time is wasted waiting for films to develop.
Laboratory Testing

If your pet will ever need laboratory work, don’t worry. We have a state-of-the-art blood lab that is in-house so we can complete immediate testing.
Preventive Dentistry Improves Health, Lengthens Lives

Did you know that 85% of adult pets have dental disease? This is why we offer professional dental cleanings here at Snowflake Pet Center. If your pet has poor oral health, not only will they have bad breath but they could develop bacterial infections that spread through the entire body in the bloodstream, damaging your pet’s kidneys, liver, and heart. While your pet is under anesthesia, their teeth will be cleaned with an ultrasonic scaler, polished, and treated with fluoride. Our staff will also teach you about dental home care products and diets to maintain your pet’s oral health.
Dental and Oral Radiology (X-rays)

We use dental radiographs that help assess teeth, surrounding soft tissues, joints, and bone. They help to reveal subgingival (under the gums) foreign objects like cysts and tumors. Studies have shown that without dental radiographs, significant pathology is missed in up to 75% of pets.
Prescription Diet

Do you need some guidance when it comes to helping your pet maintain a fit and healthy life? Let us help you choose the best types of well-balanced foods or even a prescription diet, if need be. We stock a variety of Purina Veterinary Diet, Hills Science Diet, and Royal Canin.
