Meet Our Staff
Robert & Kathleen Mickolyzck – Owners
Snowflake Pet Center has always been a labor of love for Bob and Kathi. A true family legacy, Bob helped lay the cement and build the original facility back in 1969, making him a proud second-generation steward of the business. Together he and Kathi have nurtured Snowflake Pet Center into what it is today - a trusted place where pets are cared for like family.
Their love and passion for animals still shines through each day, doing what they love most. Beyond the business, they've shared 45 wonderful years of marriage, enjoy traveling, spending time with their 13 grandchildren, and doting on their beloved yorkie - Bella, who at 15 years old is very much a part of the family.

Lawrence Brooks - Veterinarian
Raised in New Jersey, Dr. Larry Brooks made Connecticut his home after graduating from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. Just a few years later, in 1987 he founded Powder Ridge Veterinary Hospital, which he successfully grew and led for 31 years before selling the practice.
Even after passing the reins, Dr. Brooks continues to dedicate his career to caring for pets and performing surgery - a passion that has never faded since the day he started.
Beyond his veterinary career, he enjoys an active lifestyle that includes playing hockey weekly, skiing, and traveling. Yet, nothing brings him more joy then spending time with his grandson.

Rebecca – Manager
Rebecca has been part of Snowflake Pet Center since 1999 and is a third-generation family member in the business. As manager, she oversees boarding, grooming, and the veterinary hospital, ensuring pets and their families receive the best care. Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys time with her husband, two children, and dog Savannah, as well as traveling, gardening, and a well deserved glass of wine with a Hallmark movie.

Cheryl – Receptionist
Cheryl joined us in 2006 and has been the friendly face at the front desk - and the cheerful voice on the phone - ever since. She's never shy about striking up a conversation - with people or pets - and loves making everyone feel comfortable the moment they walk in. When she's not at the office, you'll probably find her cheering on the New York Jets, curled up with a good book, or enjoying time with her grandchildren.

Juan – Kennel Attendant/Room Assistant
Juan has been with Snowflake Pet Center since 2011 supporting the kennels and assisting in exam rooms wherever he is needed most. Multifaceted in his role, he also provides caring attention to boarding pets, ensuring they feel comfortable and loved while away from home. Outside of Snowflake Pet Center, he enjoys relaxing time with his wife, watching sports, and he has twin adult children - one of which is pursuing a path toward medicine.
Jenny – Professional Groomer
Jenny has been part of the Snowflake Pet Center family for more than 45 years, making her one of the most experienced and trusted groomers in the community. As the owners' sister-in-law, Snowflake Pet Center has always felt like home, and she takes great pride in caring for pets with the same love and attention she gives her own family. Jenny is bilingual in English and Spanish, which allows her to connect with even more of our wonderful clients.
When she's not in her grooming apron, she will often be in her kitchen, cooking or baking something delicious to share. She also enjoys finding new local restaurants to eat at with her husband, going to concerts with her children and cherishes every moment spent with her grandchildren.

Teagan – Veterinary Assistant
Teagan joined Snowflake Pet Center in 2024 and is currently working toward her dream of becoming a veterinarian. A dedicated college student, she spends every school break working and gaining hands-on experience with the animals she loves so much. When she's not studying or working, Teagan enjoys reading, art, softball, and exploring her love of science. Her passion and energy make her a wonderful part of the Snowflake Pet Center team.
Ashley – Professional Groomer
With nine years of grooming experience, Ashley joined Snowflake Pet Center in 2024. She loves working with dogs - and the feeling is mutual! Known for her gentile touch and skilled techniques, she makes grooming a positive experience for every dog she works with. Beyond the grooming table, Ashley and her partner Nick have a one year old son, "Big Boss" to their German Shepherds (Benson, Geist, and Lux), a cat (Ohana), snakes and lizards.
