With
a skilled hand and tender touch, our veterinarians provide a full range
of soft-tissue surgical services, including spays, neuters, lump
removal, abdominal surgery and other procedures. A visiting
board-certified orthopedic surgeon performs complex surgeries such as
cruciate ligament repair and fractures so pets can receive specialty
care in the familiar surroundings at Snowflake Pet Center.
If needed ultrasounds are also arranged and performed by a specialist who visits Snowflake Pet Center.
Our
doctors use the latest surgical techniques, anesthesia and pain
medication. To ensure your pet’s safety under anesthesia, we recommend
a simple blood test before surgery for all young pets and require it
for companions age 7 or older. We also monitor your pet’s heart rate,
blood pressure, temperature and level of oxygen in the blood during
surgery.
Proactive Pain Management
Our
veterinarians take a progressive approach to managing pain so your best
friend is as comfortable as possible. Based on your pet’s treatment or
surgery, your doctor will control pain before, during and after
surgery. When your pet is discharged from the hospital, you’ll receive
written after-care instructions and appropriate pain medication to
continue your pet’s comfort at home while healing.
Emergencies Please call us at once for any emergency concerning your pet.
Emergencies
during our normal hospital hours are given priority treatment over
scheduled appointments. All pet owners understand and realize “if it
were their pet, they would expect the same.”
If we are unable to attend to your pet due to after hour emergencies, then we will refer you to a local emergency hospital, with follow-up care at Snowflake Pet Center, if you prefer.
Care is always available for your pet.
X-Ray When needed we can provide x-rays for our Veterinarians to evaluate and diagnose your pet.
Laboratory Testing
Laboratory
testing is a very important part of your pet's health. A state of the
art in-house blood lab is also available for immediate testing of your
pet’s needs.
Because
85% of adult pets have dental disease, we offer professional dental
cleanings. Poor oral health causes bad breath and bacterial infections
that spread through the entire body in the bloodstream, damaging your
pet’s kidneys, liver and heart. While your pet is under anesthesia,
their teeth will be cleaned with an ultrasonic scaler, polished and
treated with fluoride. Our staff will also teach you about dental
home-care products and diets to maintain your pet’s oral health.
Weight Control
Snowflake
Pet Center prides itself for the large variety of prescription diet,
and well balanced foods that your pet may need to maintain a fit and
healthy life. We are dedicated to your pet’s health both medically and
nutritionally.
